Step 1:
After the design is completed
the ground is marked with spray
paint or a string line. A sod cutter
is used to remove the grass. This
will not disturb existing beds.
Step 2:
The concrete is mixed onsite
using a mixer and trailer. The mix
consists of sand, cement,
water, desired color, fibermesh (for
strength) and Efflor-Guard (protects
the color of the curb and also
protects against
efflorescence.) There is no heavy
equipment or concrete trucks on your
property.
Step 3:
The concrete is fed from a
wheel barrow into the curbing
machine. This creates a continuous
piece of concrete curb.
Step 4:
The curb is smooth finished
with a hand trowel. We then
use our stamps and/or rollers
with color released agents to make
your desired design.
Step 5:
Control/Expansion joints
are cut every 3 feet while the
concrete is still wet. The cuts are
approximately 40% into the curb.
This helps to allow the curb to
shift during temperature changes and
also helps control any cracking that
may occur.
Step 6:
A concrete sealer is applied
to your finished curb. Applying the
sealer allows the concrete to cure
properly, bring the true color of
the release agents to life and
protect your curbing from the
elements.
Step 7:
Your yard will be left as
clean or cleaner than it was when we
arrived. The only way you will know
we were there is the beautiful
curbing you now have.
